Puppy Classes
All the basics for starting your new pupper off on the right paw.
$180.00What's Involved
This is a 6 week class, one hour per week, for (fully vaccinated and healthy) puppies aged 12 weeks to 6 months. In this class we will learn about communication, stress signs, developmental stages of life and of course how to train your puppy to set him/her up for a lifetime of success. Each class will have time set aside for puppy play, when appropriate.
Week 1 - This is a human only session. Please bring a pen and a notepad. Everyone will have ample opportunity to ask questions and share any concerns that they have with their puppy.
Week 2 - Freework. A class setting can be difficult for some dogs and in turn can make it hard for us as owners as well!! Freework is an excercise that will help your dog to gain confidence around new and unusual items and strange or stressful environments. It helps to release energy and provide appropriate mental stimulation whilst creating positive associations. It's the perfect set up to a new class adventure that can be transferred anywhere!
Week 3 - Focus anchoring, charging the marker. We will play some fun games, learn about the importance of focus and how to mark and reinforce behaviors that we like so that they are more likely to continue in the future.
Week 4 - Puppy Basics. We will learn how to train basic cues like sit, stay, come, etc. We will learn how to deal with puppy mouthing, jumping and barking.
Week 5 - Take it / Leave it. We will learn how to teach these cues and how to prevent resource guarding behaviors in the future.
Week 6 - Loose Leash Walking. We will learn how to create positive associations to the leash and how to make walking enjoyable for everyone.
Manners Class
In order for your dog to know what to do, we have to teach them first.

In this class we will learn about communication, stress signs, developmental stages of life and of course how to train your dog to have basic manners. Many of our dogs do really well at home, but once you leave the house it's like they forget their name - sometimes it's the other way around. Either way, this class will help you to learn how to manage these concerns.

Week 4 - Recall. There's nothing worse than trying to call your dog back to you and he won't come! There are many reasons for this and believe it or not, it has nothing to do with being "stubborn". We will learn how to make returning to you the best choice your dog has made all day!
Week 5 - Loose Leash Walking. We will learn how to create positive associations to the leash and how to make walking enjoyable for everyone.
Week 6 - Choose your adventure! Depending on the dynamics of our group, we will collectively choose our own lesson for the class wrap up!

This is a 2 week class, one hour per week, where we will focus primarily on learning how to walk nicely on a leash. This class is for all ages!

This course is for dogs who struggle with feeling comfortable in their environment.
